Fifty Years of Local Leadership
ADCO’s relationship with the South Carolina Association of Counties dates back to 2017, when we helped update their logo for the association’s own 50th anniversary — a project that also included a printed history in the form of a President’s Report and an accompanying anniversary video. So when SCAC set out to mark a second, larger milestone in 2025 — the 50th anniversary of the Home Rule Act, the 1975 law that transformed South Carolina’s 46 counties from state-controlled entities into self-governing local leaders — they came back to ADCO. We designed a new commemorative anniversary logo and banner-up displays for SCAC’s annual conference, then took the lead on a documentary-style video honoring the occasion: outlining the story, coordinating interview subjects and videography, and conducting the interviews with state and county leaders reflecting on home rule’s lasting impact.
